Saving The Turtles


Last Sunday, a few local conservation organizations (ASCONA and Osa Conservation) organized an educational festival about the MarineTurtles. The goal was to teach children and adults about the 4 species that call the Osa Peninsula home, their habits and the danger they´re in. It was a beautiful day on the Carate beach with talks and quizzes, turtle races, video presentations, a play, food and much more…
Several members of the Lapa Rios team attended and we gave transportation to several families from Puerto Jimenez to Carate (located next to the Corcovado National Park). We hope more people start to understand the importance of protecting these animals, as all species are in danger of extinction unfortunately…
