Typical Dances
These pictures are from our Typical Dances that we hold every week just before dinner at the restaurant. The children are ages 7 -14. They dance to typical Costa Rican songs, dressed in the typical costumes and dancing and singing the traditional way.
We have been doing this for many years but many of the kids grew up and some left the area. We were left with very few kids living very far from Lapa Rios and had temporarily discontinued it, but we just started with a new group of kids from the Hoja de Osa school and it was lots of fun!
This is a chance for our guests to connect with our culture, and have fun doing so as the kids are so cute and even when they make a mistake, it’s just fun watching them! They will also ask you to dance with them making it a very interactive evening. We hope guests will be inspired to help the school continue to operate. Many of the kids are studying without being able to pay the tuition and the school needs funds to continue serving the local community.
