Hello!!!!!!!!
Let me tell you about a really cool experienced I had last week! I went to pick up Cindy at Bosque del Cabo at her last day of work (she
quit) and I was a bit early so I asked Phil if I could do the Titi Trail very close to our property because I had heard its great to spot pumas..... he said sure but laughed at my chances of actually seeing one. Then he told Cindy she could leave early and that She should come with me so she did...
Before entering the trail I asked Cindy not to say a word during the entire trail and to be as quiet as possible..... we had NOT walked for more than 10 minutes when I have no idea how I was able to spot a PUMA!!!!! about 40 meters into the rain-forest! I was stoked and couldn't believe it!!! We saw him for about 15 minutes when he started to walk away.... I quickly followed him into the dense forest to get a better glimpse and when I was finally seeing him clearly
ANOTHER puma came along and started walking by its side!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I could barely manage not to explode form all my emotions and felt blessed to be able to have this experience.... But this is not all!
Then I started hearing a noise, i thought it was another puma very close by... But what I found was a dying howler monkey the pumas had capture!!!! Again I could NOT believe! it they had just hunted dinner and were probably coming Back!!!!!!!!! So I drove back to LR to pick up the super cool cameras Doña Karen bought for us and went
back to place them, when i Got there there where there already!!!
The two pumas again!!!!! I saw them for about another 15 minutes and they left probably disliking my presence. I placed the camera and could not wait to check it the next day..... I could NOT sleep thinking on the wonderful pictures I was going to capture.... At 4 am i was awake and ready to check those cameras!!!! We got there and the monkey was not there anymore (I though great news the came for
him) and the camera took a shot at me when i passed by and i started jumping and screaming like a little boy just imagining the pictures the camera had taken,,,,, I was sO exited but when We down loaded the pictures (of course in the filed, wouldn't have been able to wait 20 minutes more to get to a computer) there was 0 pictures........
probably in all the excitement I didn't place the camera or set it up correctly. Not a single one!!!!!!!!!!! I had never felt so disappointed!!! I was very sad and felt very unfortunate.... I was heading back to LR when I decided to go back and try to find a footprint in the mud that I could take a picture of and always remember that I had seen the animal that made that footprint! I went back but couldn't fin trace of any kind..... I kept walking and I
started hearing BUZz sound! FLYS!!!!! I followed the sound and
found the monkey carcass!!!!!! still it had some meat left and I though this is my chance!!!!! So I replaced the camera and left hoping I still had a chance. When I came back that afternoon, I was looking all-around to see if I could see them while I was getting closer to where the camera was.... When I was maybe a 20 meters away form the camera I noticed the Puma was Right there!!!!!!!! In front of the camera and extremely close to me!!!!!! he was eating, i could hear very clearly how the bones cracked and could see in all detail the puma. I stayed there for about half an hour!!!!!!! Sometime he would stop eating and stared at me, I couldn't move and I had never felt so alive and with mix feelings of excitement and fear... Then he would go back to munching ....... I was able not to get a glance of a beautiful cat but to see him feeding and acting in his normal behavior for more than half an hour!!!!!!!!!!! This happened almost a week ago and Im still Stoked!!!!!!!!!!
Best experience ever!!!!! Thanks for the camera, I made a presentation to ouR guests which they all enjoyed a LOT!
